Ludlow Brewing Company

10 Station Drive, Ludlow

Ludlow Brewery, founded in 2006 by Gary and Alison Walters to revive brewing in a town that had been without it since the 1930s, operates from a lovingly-restored Victorian railway shed adjacent to Ludlow station in Shropshire. This friendly microbrewery combines traditional cask ales—such as its flagship “Ludlow Gold,” Best, Black Knight, Blonde—with adventurous “Derailed” keg and lager innovations, produced on a 20-barrel plant capable of around 25,000 pints weekly and gearing up to double capacity by adding modern tanks and launching its first lager. Sustainability is a priority: energy-efficient brewing, solar PV panels powering much of the operation, heat recovery, rainwater harvesting, and carbon capture efforts all reflect a green ethos. The Railway Shed taproom is open year‑round, featuring high‑ceiling industrial charm, mezzanine seating, a terrace, a calendar of music, food pop-ups, private hires, tours with tastings, and a casual community atmosphere—making it a beloved destination for locals, travellers, families, cyclists, and beer fans alike.
