New River Brewery is an independent craft brewery founded in July 2015 on the banks of the New River in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, England. It has built a strong reputation for brewing honest, well-crafted ales that appeal to both drinkers and pubs across Hertfordshire, London and surrounding counties, drawing inspiration from the storied waterway that flows past its doorstep. The brewery produces a core range of cask and bottled beers available year-round alongside seasonal and one-off specials, using a distinctive “wet” yeast to give its beers a clean, memorable flavour profile; its Five-Inch Drop was even named Hertfordshire’s Beer of the Year in 2019. New River’s output blends traditional styles with contemporary tastes, and its beers can be bought directly from the brewery shop or enjoyed at local venues.
