Southampton has quietly built a modern beer scene down on the water, and its festivals are catching up fast. The mood is relaxed and local.
City taprooms and venues host events through the year, with a good spread from crisp lager to richer, barrel-aged beer. It is a handy launchpad for exploring south coast beer.
