Scotland's thriving beer festival scene

Scotland blends centuries of brewing tradition with a craft scene that loves to push boundaries, and its festivals capture both. From the capital's polished celebrations to Glasgow's fiercely Scottish events, the calendar rewards anyone willing to explore.

Edinburgh hosts events befitting the capital, balancing the best of Scottish brewing with carefully chosen guests. Glasgow runs some of the country's largest Scotland-only festivals, Aberdeen brings its own north-east character, and Dundee shows the scene reaches well beyond the Central Belt.

Scottish brewers are not ones for following the crowd, so festivals here can throw up whisky-barrel-aged stouts, beers brewed with local botanicals and all manner of fruited sours, alongside clean lager and proper cask. The welcome is as warm as the beer is bold.

City breaks and Highland trips alike are better with a festival in the diary. Get to know the brewers in our Scotland breweries guide, then find dates in the festivals listed below.

Edinburgh's iconic skyline with Dugald Stewart Monument, city of world-class beer events
