Flowerhorn Brewery

The Bridge Studios, Cardiff

Flowerhorn Brewery, founded in August 2019 by long-time friends Andrew Traynor and Arran McHugh in Cardiff, has grown from brewing in a garage to operating a dedicated 5 bbl brewhouse with its own weekend taproom at The Bridge Studios. Known for its surreal, psychedelic branding inspired by the vibrant Flowerhorn fish, the brewery produces refreshing, hop-forward pale ales and IPAs—core cans include Yawn (Mosaic pale ale), Capo (Citra pale ale), and Bits (orange juice IPA)—alongside playful limited editions featuring ingredients like doughnuts and cacao nibs. With a 10-line taproom serving both their beers and guests, street food vendors, vinyl records, and even dog-friendly "Flowerhorn Dog Bakery" treats from spent grains, they’ve created a vibrant community hub. Backed by two Start Up Loans to expand capacity, Flowerhorn is planning further growth—including a new bar in collaboration with street food partner Mr Croquewich—and continued innovation in Cardiff’s craft beer scene.
