Established in 2002 by Alex Brodie, Hawkshead Brewery began in a 17th-century barn near Hawkshead before relocating to Staveley in 2006. The brewery is renowned for its diverse range of beers, blending new world hops with classic European styles. Their lineup includes award-winning brews such as Hawkshead Bitter and Brodie's Prime Porter. In 2018, production expanded to a larger facility in Flookburgh to meet growing demand, while the Staveley site continued to produce small-batch offerings. As of September 2024, the Beer Hall in Staveley has closed, with operations fully transitioning to Flookburgh.
