Purple Moose

Purple Moose Brewery, nestled in the historic harbour town of Porthmadog in North Wales, crafts its award-winning ales using water sourced from Snowdonia and 100% UK‑malted barley. Founded by homebrew enthusiast Lawrence Washington—who began experimenting in 1995 and launched the commercial brewery in 2005—the brewery expanded its capacity from a modest 10-barrel system to a 40-barrel brewhouse by 2013. Known for a diverse portfolio of cask, keg, and bottled beers—from crisp pale ales and lively IPAs to rich stouts—the brewery has garnered over 100 major awards, including CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain gold and Great Taste’s Best Welsh Speciality. They also maintain food safety and quality accreditation from the Society of Independent Brewers.
