The Mad Brewer

The Mad Brewer is a subsidiary brand of Leatherbritches Brewery Ltd, the long-established craft ale producer based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England.

Rather than being a completely separate brewery site, The Mad Brewer functions as a distinct brewing range/identity within the Leatherbritches family, spotlighting more experimental, hop-forward or offbeat beers compared with Leatherbritches’ traditional real ale catalogue. Beers released under the Mad Brewer name — such as milkshake-style IPAs, double-dry-hopped pale ales and other modern styles — reflect a playful twist on classic brewing, roughly echoing contemporary craft trends but still rooted in the same brewing house.
