Northern Monk

84 Butcher Street, Leeds

Northern Monk is an independent craft brewery based in Leeds, UK, founded in 2013 by Russell Bisset and Brian Dickson. What began in a basement with a £5,000 investment has grown into one of the UK's most prominent craft breweries, employing over 100 people and achieving a £14 million turnover. The brewery operates from a Grade II listed building in Holbeck, Leeds, which houses both the brewery and a taproom. Northern Monk is renowned for its flagship hazy pale ale, Faith, and its session beer, SUP, both of which contribute to annual sales growth exceeding 20%. The brewery emphasises creativity, community, and collaboration, regularly partnering with national and international breweries, businesses, and causes to foster positive change in the North. Looking ahead, Northern Monk aims to become the largest craft brewer in Europe by 2035, with plans to expand its presence in pubs and bars and open additional taprooms.
